Det er i naturen det foregår, i hvert fall synes utstillingens kurator, nederlandske Wapke Feenstra at “Nature” er en passende tittel på en utstilling som vises på F15 på naturidylliske Jeløya. I motsetning til utstillingens første del, “City”, som ble vist i en handlegate i Rotterdam. Utstillingens tredje del foregår på Internett under adressen www.wssohwte.net

Toril Rygh bretter natutbegrepet ut i grufull fasinasjon med gamle tegninger av obduksjoner. I kombinasjon med betongskulpturer av mennesklige organer blir denne naturforståelsen både frastøtende og tiltrekkende: Naturen avdekkes som noe vi ønsker å kontrollere, men som vi ikke kan verge oss mot

Nature is at the essence of all things. At least this is what the Dutch curator, Wapke Feenstraa seems to think, in naming the exhibition at Gallery F15, “ Nature”. Placed on the picturesque island of Jeløya outside the town of Moss in Norway, the contrast is apparent when we compare to the first part of this exhibition “City”, setin one of Rotterdam`s busy commercial streets. Toril Rygh unfolds her concept of nature, horribly fascinating as it can be, by using old drafts of autopsies. Combining concrete sculptures with human organs, her conception of nature becomes repulsive and attractive at the same time. Nature is revealed as something we want to control, but at the same time we are not able to defend ourselves against it.
